Aloha Yoga and Fitness

Nicole's Biography:

A love of being active led me to Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California
where I majored in Physical Education and Kinesiology (the study of human movement).
I concentrated on Teaching Physical Education and Promoting Corporate Wellness. I
stayed active playing volleyball, swimming or working out the Cal Poly Rec Center.
After losing my dad to cancer in 1996, I became very committed to promoting health and
fitness authentically, knowledgeably, and professionally.

Since then, I have been serving effectively in the health & fitness industry as a
Corporate Wellness Program Manager, Group Activity Planner, Certified Personal
Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor and 200-hour
Yoga Alliance approved Registered
Yoga Teacher. I teach four Vinyasa - style Yoga, and two Stretch and Core classes at
the
Pacific Shores Club in Redwood City, California. I also teaching Vinyasa Yoga and
Step Aerobics at the Palo Alto Y.M.C.A. (part of the
Mid-Peninsula Y.M.C.A.)

I understand that every body is unique and different.
Everyone deserves the benefit of exercising with a qualified personal trainer, and it
should be affordable. Let me show you how to begin and maintain an exercise program,
change your shape, get stronger for your current life activities, or simply find your
workouts more enjoyable. We only have one body…let’s honor it!
It is important to remember that you do not need to be a gym member to get
(and stay) fit! The gym is a great tool for fitness, but so is your very own home or
favorite local park! There are so many forms of human movement that (if willing to try) a
person is bound to find something they really love doing consistently. With exercise and
a positive attitude, an individual can build personal and physical strength to try new
activities and enrich their life. I am committed to helping people fall in love with fitness
and yoga!

I personally love a wide-variety of activities, such as:
ATV riding, dancing, hiking, kayaking, kick boxing, practicing yoga (Vinyasa yoga is a
very active and challenging workout), playing volleyball and soccer, power walking, and
swimming, snorkeling, surfing, wake boarding and white water rafting. I have even tried
a couple of activities that I personally feared - SCUBA diving, rock climbing and "zipping"
(right photo below).
